Stop Kiss
BY DIANA SON
Director's Note:
Stop Kiss by Diana Son is a play that centers around the developing relationship between two female friends, who over the course of their friendship, find that they have romantic feelings for each other. Weaving together scenes from past and present, Callie and Sara are forced to deal with societal and emotional repercussions surrounding an event that was meant to be both beautiful and sacred--their first kiss. Though the play shows the real-life realities for those who have suffered through hate crimes, Stop Kiss is not the story of ugliness and tragedy, but rather is a story that speaks to the power of love and how it can enrich all of us in the most profound and beautiful of ways.
